The 18th Symposium of the Natural Products Research Network for Eastern and Central Africa (NAPRECA)
Aswan, Egypt December 2019
A pre-symposium workshop on “Recent techniques in natural products research” will be held from 4th -5th December 2019. The aim of this International event is to knock the door of knowledge in all disciplines related to natural products research by making senior scientists, young researchers, master and PhD students from all over the world brought together to share their latest advances in natural products leading to new collaborations and research opportunities.

Theme: Harnessing natural products for the well-being of the African People.
Interested participants should complete the free online registration form and submit an extended abstract in English which should clearly indicates weather it is an oral presentation and/or a poster. The Scientific Committee reserves the right to accept on whether a paper will be presented orally or as poster and the authors will be notified accordingly.
The deadline for registration is May 31st, 2017 and for Abstract submission is June 18th, 2017.

Instructions for oral presentations:
Oral presentations are in English and are limited to 15 min plus 5 min for discussion. PowerPoint presentations should be handed over to the organizer at least 1 hour before starting the session.
Guidelines for abstract preparation:
Title of the abstract (14 font size, Times New Roman, Bold, Capital, Center), author names and affiliation (12 font size, Times New Roman, italics, Center) should be indicated at the top of the abstract.
The abstract should summarize the contents of the presentation in not more than 300 words which should not exceed one page including the following subtitles:
Background: In one or two sentences, summarize the scientific body of knowledge involving your study and how this led to your investigation as well as the aim and objectives.
Methods: Concise description of the overall methods you used in your investigation.
Results: Report the most important results of your study.
Conclusion: Provide a concise account of the conclusions that can be directly relevant to your aim and objectives.
References: Not exceeding three references (Reference citation according to Vancouver style)
Instructions for poster presentations:
Poster presentations are in English. The poster size is according to DIN A0 format (max. 80 cm width and max. 150 cm height). Posters should be self-explanatory and organized to include abstract, objectives, methods, results and discussion. All figures and tables should contain headings.
Material for fixing the posters will be provided by the conference organizer but participants are responsible for mounting posters at the beginning of the poster session and removing them at the end.
Pre-symposium workshops:
Workshops will be held at the University of Addis Ababa as from the 10th to 12th of August.
Venue of the symposium & Accommodation:
The symposium will take place from the 13th to 16th of August at the Ras Amba Hotel http://hotelrasamba.com (Queen Elizabeth II Street, Arat Kilo, Kebena, Addis Ababa, Ethiopia).
